My husband brought home this quote, cut out of our local paper.  many may have heard it... and the point is not new to us either, but, It's the fact that this is "obviously true" in these times...that it hits right between the eyes.  It made me catch my breath and brought tears... why?  because it's validity is staggering.

More than 200 years ago the noted British historian, Alaxander Fraser Tyler wrote:
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can nly exist intill the voters discover that they can vote themselves, largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury witht he results that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to apathy; from apathy to dependence; from dependence back again into bondage."
I believe that we are on the cusp of dependence back again into bondage.
The real danger is an oligarchy of left wingers who would have us live under a "nanny government" that invariably leads to socialism and eventually (dare I say it?), communism.
President Obama and the Democrats are wrestikng control of this country from its citizens and into the hands of the left and yet we remain complacent save for the Tea Party and a few other organizations. We must stop the destruction of our society." --Ronald A. Knief, Bessemer

hannah and micah fontecchio

what is it about tire swings and kids? or swings and kids in general?  I remeber when I was young. we would head up to camp in the allegheny national forest. (we had a trailer on a lot there)  and I would care about  not much more than finding toads, capturing chipmunks (if I could)  and sojourning for acres, in barefeet-- (always in barefeet) searching for a solitary rope swing (or any swing!) and the higher the better.:)  i did find one once.  it was so high up, it felt exhilerating to fly on that thing, like an amusement park ride in the middle of fresh air, solitude and many trees. i adored it, and visited it every week-end, till i grew up and my mind turned to other various and sundry things that were not worth anything near as much as that treasure of a swing... but  i never figured that out till much later. :(  what a waste it is at times... hanging around, learning inane lessons... but i know God doesn't (not) use anything... so i guess this time was not in vain either, but things were oh so much less complicated when I longed for the swings :)  hannah and micah have it rigtht-- Lord, let them  keep it that way...

jacob at his normally cute, bestest self...

actually i didn't take this one,  my daughter brandi did, it's her jacob. i was perusing photos to share with you all here on the blog..., and I came across this one--too cute ;) so i stuck it in here.  he had a birthday this month. he is 8 already... and i miss him in a big way. he is a good hearted kid. he is a smart kid.  he is a brave kid &  i know he's gonna grow into a good man. he's got the right stuff :)

Micah Fontechio

micah, adding to the bonfire his dad built. This kid is a northwoods guy all the way.  a good kid with a good heart and a love for camping and the outdoorsl

many moods of richochet

this is ricky. he likes to be called richochet. so i call him richochet. it fits him somehow. an intense kid with a lust for life. a kid who is more at home while acting than he is in person. oh how --many of us can relate to that? he is a sensitive kid and a conscience kid who still cares.

reflective of why--live and shine

~These photos capture the essence of my dear daughter, Noelle,
with her dramatic flair and her large appetite for devouring life at it's most captivating.

While this is only a snapshot of all that sums up who she has become.

She is an intense creature who is as passionate about a  "just right"setting on a table for those she cares about as she is about today's issues that inflame her with madness when she is not able to--  right now --on the spot, be a part of the change that she feels needs to be exacted.

Not a dreamer in the sense of frivolity or excess... she is a visionary that wants to be privy and avail herself to opportunities to make a difference for her God and the people she rallies for ...  His people,
the oppressed and the subjugated... She has this intense passion for people that cannot be squelched.

I LOVE this child's inspiring and contageous spirit.

She is a dream and a drama, a monolog and a musical,  a melodie and a self scored docu-drama with a rock opera interlude... She's my right hand gal and her dad and I  love her with all of our hearts...

A young lady in her own right , she has submitted herself to purity and God's way for her life...I am on the edge waiting to see what He will do through her as she endeavors to live out her dreams during her alloted time on earth...
"Live and Shine", my emblazoned star, embrace your dreams, share your heart, and  "Live and Shine"
